S.S.A.B Savai'i concludes book fair
Samoa Stationery and Books (S.S.A.B.) in Savai'i concluded their book Fair on Friday with their employees dressing up as their favourite literary characters.
Under the theme "Read to Succeed," the activity is part of S.S.A.B's commitment to promote literacy in Samoa.
The company’s main branch in Apia concluded their book fair earlier this month.
S.S.A.B. advocates for literacy and the company’s C.E.O. and President, Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai's, says it is a driving passion.
In a recent interview with Tofilau, she said that educating the children of Samoa through reading is one of S.S.A.B.'s goal.
The retailer is also committed to making reading fun, as their recent book fair shows.
Company staff are hosting a competition by uploading photos on S.S.A.B's Facebook page; the photos with the most likes will win the competition.
The Literacy Week celebration includes a book fair where people can buy books for as low as 20 cents.
S.S.A.B. also has a literacy promotion that will continue until the end of July.
