Segiali'i appointed new Quarantine A.C.E.O.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has a new Assistant Chief Executive Officer (A.C.E.O.) for Quarantine.
Segialii Louise Marie Malaki has occupied the role previously held by Lupeomanu Pelenato Fonoti, who was suspended in July last year.
The Chief Executive Officer, of M.A.F., Tilafono David Hunter, confirmed that Lupeomanu’s contract had concluded with the Ministry.
He did not say when the contract ended.
Lupeomanu was accused of assaulting businessman and commercial farmer, Papali'i Panoa Tavita, during a Pesticide Committee meeting the Quarantine office in Matautu.
He was later charged for assault and suspended with the Public Service Commission undergoing an investigation into his conduct.
Since then, the P.S.C. has declined to comment on the investigation saying it will wait for the criminal proceedings to conclude first.
