Alisa Sia, 57, Lalomauga

I heard that there are new cases of the disease in New Zealand so I think the borders should remain closed and no plane should come to Samoa. Our country needs to be protected. We have to think about the little kids.

Letiana Too, 48, Vaimoso

Travel should be stopped because of the new coronavirus cases in New Zealand. Our country needs to be protected because the disease will affect us because our country is small.

Samuelu Siu, 63, Tuanai

Borders should remain closed because we need to be protected. Recently there have been cases of the coronavirus in New Zealand so I think the restrictions should remain until the end of the year. We shouldn’t rush to reopen borders. We should wait until there is a cure for this disease.

Toe Toelau, 30, Tapatapao

We should be patient and wait. People are still being affected by this disease so if travel between countries continues and someone gets the disease then it will affect our country. We should wait for a few months depending on the disease.

Mose Afi, 31, Afega

The border should still be open. It should still be open for people who would like to travel to other countries and also for people to come back to Samoa.

Janet Ah Hoy, 33, Aleisa

I think they should still keep the borders closed for our safety. I think the Government is trying to look at the revenue side of things and tourism but I think Samoa’s health and safety should come first.
