Rugby is back after the lockdown and the Taula Apia Rugby Union is set to kick off its regular competition with a Super 4 tournament on Saturday.

The Union's Media Spokesperson, Laifa Vaoiva Petersen, said the officials and players have been out of action for the past few weeks but they are excited about getting back on the field tomorrow.

The four-week tournament is sponsored by Taula Beverages.

"The Taula ARU All-Stars rugby tournament kicks off this Saturday. There will be two categories, the Senior A and the U-20," said Laifa.

"There are four pools and three teams in each. We have 12 clubs competing in the Taula ARU tournament."

The tournament will be held at the HPU field at Tuanaimato.

The tournament will help prepare the Apia Union teams for the National Sevens series scheduled in August.

The competition is divided into for groups.

The Taula West group consists of Vaimoso, Alamagoto and Moamoa.

Taula South is made up of Apia, SCOPA and United Brothers.

Taula North includes Vaiala, Magiagi and Letogo.

Taula East is made up of Moataa, Vailele and Laulii.

The tournament is the Union's first hit out since the Government gave the green light for the resumption of contact sports.

Laifa added that spectators will be encouraged to exercise social distancing in line with S.O.E. orders.
