Be nice to people

Re: They’ve missed the point

Some people sure take the law a little further.

Police have a duty to protect the people. Who will the people call for help if this is the kind of help they get. We have to protect our families.  Officers, even if you have the badge and the uniform, always remember your aganu’u and treat others with love and respect.

Your job is not easy, but be reasonable with people’s requests.

‘Let me move my hand, please’ was not a threat. Don’t rule like Hitler of old.  Be grateful for the work you are doing. Don’t get it in your head because of the title and uniform you wear.  There are laws, rules and policies, but always remember, these are your brothers and sisters and they deserve justice as well. There are no laws that you are allowed to punch, kick and hit anybody.  “Do unto others what you want others do unto you.”

Samoa of old was ‘E viia oe e tagata i lana aganuu faatausala’.

Do not be harsh, mean and cruel with the way you treat our people.
