Samoa Stationery and Books (S.S.A.B) has already introduced the first phase of its campaign for cancer.

Leading up to the Pinktober, S.S.A.B. yesterday commenced its campaign through the purchase of reflex A4 copy paper with pink cover.

The company procured the A4 paper, which is endorsed by the New Zealand Cancer Foundation as S.S.A.B’s contribution to Samoa Cancer Society and also to maximize the awareness on the negative impact of cancer.

“I will continue to support and do work for Samoa Cancer Society because I want to help plus I have a sister who is brave survivor of cancer and not forgetting my dear friend, a strong fighter Manamea Schwalger who died from cancer,” says the C.E.O. of S.S.A.B., Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai.

Tofilau explained that $5tala from any single purchase of the Pink A4 ream and Pink A4 box will go towards Samoa Cancer Society.

The original price of a ream is $17.50 but in the spirit of giving and helping the society, the C.E.O. has slashed the price to $14.50.

This is not the first time S.S.A.B. has executed philanthropic work to assist Samoa Cancer Society awareness activities and work.

Last year, S.S.A.B. donated $10,000 to the cause as well as producing a pink uniform for the whole staff of S.S.A.B. in Upolu and Savai’i which cost $10,000 also.

The C.E.O. of Samoa Cancer Society, Shelley Burich was in awe to witness that S.S.A.B. has initiated this lead-up campaign towards the Pinktober campaign.

“I want to thank Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai and S.S.A.B. team for continuing this campaign and the support for the Samoa Cancer Society. It’s great to see that you are supporting Samoa Cancer this year and we are very grateful. We wish S.S.A.B. all the best with the campaign,” said Mrs. Burich.

One of the most important messages from the society years ago is “encouraging women to do regular checkups for early detection of Cancer.”

Tofilau on the other hand decided to kick start its campaign early to correlate with the cancer society’s message of detecting cancer at an early stage.

“I encourage all our valued customers, business community and government ministries to buy your pink A4 from S.S.A.B. because you are supporting a great cause, we all want to help our sisters and brothers who are fighting this deadly disease,” says Tofilau.
