After a weeklong celebration of culture and what’s most beautiful about Samoa, the Teuila Festival culminated yesterday with an award presentation ceremony held in front of the Government Building. 

The activities for this year’s celebration were guided by the theme, “Beautiful Samoa” or Samoa Lalelei. 

Deputy Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, congratulated the organizing committee for putting together such a pleasant celebration this year. 

She also extended her gratitude and congratulations to all the participants and the winning teams.

 “This is a great opportunity to showcase and share our culture with our visiting friends from all around the world and also those who are living abroad,” she said. 

“This is also a great way of showcasing the different talents our people have.”

Fiame also congratulated the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture for hosting the Samoa Ne’i Galo Festival coinciding with the Teuila Festival. 

The final event of the Teuila was held last night with the crowning of the new Miss Samoa 2016-2017.
