All Court proceedings scheduled for this week and the next have been postponed to comply with the state of emergency orders to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

A public notice signed by the Ministry of Justice Court and Administration, Chief Executive Officer, Moliei Simi Vaai, stated that Court matters from Monday 23 March to 3 March this year have been postponed until further notice.

The statement said that probation and parole services as well as the Maintenance section are closed for the period.

One of several orders imposed under the state of emergency as preventative measures for coronavirus include the restriction for Government services.

Those restrictions are to be determined by the Public Service Commission on employees on restricted conditions to ensure minimal spread of the infection.

The conditions apply to all Government Ministries and public bodies.

All Government trips overseas are also suspended until further notice.
