Samoa is so refreshing Kevin Ashton wants to make it his home.

The Kiwi is in Samoa with Renee Ashton, Nigel Wallace and Robgn Wallace and have been lapping up the sunshine and hospitality at Saletoga Sands Resort.

This is their first time in Samoa and they are loving everything that has to do with Samoa. They have especially enjoyed watching the Samoan tattoos.

The group have enjoyed themselves so much that with flight cancellations as a result of the coronavirus, they wouldn't mind staying longer.

"We have been here a week or so now," said Mr. Ahston.

"We could be here for another three weeks if we can find a flight back to New Zealand."

Mr. Ashton said he was going to get a tattoo as a souvenir.

"Shopping is definitely on our to do list but getting the tattoo I want would be the best souvenir ever," he said.

The group of friends are also planning to get tattoos.

"I haven't decided yet on what tattoo I am getting but I do want one from my chest to my right arm. I have seen a few islanders in New Zealand with this type of tattoo," he said.

Mr. Ashton told the Samoa Observer he loves Samoa and wants to live here permanently as Samoa's climate is the best place for his health.

On the night they had arrived in Samoa was his birthday. He said he would always remember the people at his hotel putting on a big celebration for him which was his first experience of Samoan culture.

"I want to come and live here," he said.

"This is my first time in Samoa but I would really want to live here. Samoa is the best place for my health. At the moment my health is in bad condition but the warmth here would be good for it. It is also a great place to relax."
