No Idea rebounded from a loss in the semifinals last week to win leg two of the Bluesky National Women's Sevens Series on Saturday.

They were able to top Pool B after four games at the Vaimauga College Field in Faatoia, including a win over last week’s finalists Apia Maroons.

No Idea then went on to defeat leg one champions and Pool A winners Tepatasi Aleipata in the final to claim the title.

Coach Filoi Eneliko said it was about sticking to the basics.

“The girls really felt the loss last week, and really wanted to get it back,” she said.

The No Idea club have a young players this year, with a few experienced players leading the way.

“Every year we develop players from secondary schools, and some of them are from different sports,” Eneliko said.

“I don’t care if they haven’t played rugby before… we just teach them the basic skills of rugby to build up their confidence, and build up their knowledge of rugby, and give them some game time.

“Anyone who wants to play, we welcome them to come and play for us.”

She thanked the Samoa Rugby Union and sponsors like Bluesky for all their help to develop the women’s rugby players in Samoa.

“And I just wanna wish every women in Samoa all the best for International Women’s Day.

“Equal opportunity for everyone. If men can do it, girls can also do it.”
