Car crashes at Leone Bridge

A light green mini-van crashed into the Leone bridge rumble strip near the Manumalo Primary School on Wednesday.

The car was within the vicinity of Manumalo and the four way intersection at Maluafou when the traffic incident occurred.

The Samoa Observer was at the scene 11:30am, half an hour after the crash, and observed the aftermath of  the incident.

Fortunately, there were no cars approaching from the opposite direction at the time of the mishap, and no one was seriously except for the car which was badly damaged.

An eye witness, who did not want to be identified, said that the traffic queue was long and the car was not speeding.

"He was not speeding because there was a long queue perhaps he might have fallen asleep or was looking at his phone," he said.

The driver and passenger, who were not identified and are currently under Police investigation, both escaped without injury.

It is understood the driver is being investigated for allegedly driving without a license.

The Police arrived shortly at 11:40am to do their investigations.
