The discovery of the body of a man found dead at Matautu Falealili is now the subject of a Police investigation.

This was confirmed by Police Commissioner, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil, who said they do not have any firm leads at this stage.

“We started investigating a case of a man who died on Tuesday,” he said.

Fuiavailiili said they hope to determine what led to his death.

“So far we don’t have all the details but we are looking into that the case," he said.

“We do not know for sure the cause of death hence why it is now going to be a Coroner’s case."

The Police Commissioner also would not say whether they are treating the matter as homicide.

“It has been referred to the hospital and the hospital is recommending a Coroner. 

"So the Coroner will have a final determination for the cause of death.”
