Tuifaasisina named new S.I.F.A. C.E.O.

Tuifaasisina Sieni Tualega-Voorwinden has been appointed by Cabinet as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa International Finance Authority (S.I.F.A.). 

The announcement about the head of the body responsible for managing Samoa’s international financial services was made in a statement from the Government Press Secretariat on Friday. 

Tuifaasisina is a lawyer. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Law from Auckland University.

She is from the village of Falelatai and is no stranger to S.I.F.A., the organisation at which she was employed for over ten years. 

Mrs. Tualega-Voorwinden was also contracted as S.I.F.A.’s Assistant Chief Executive Officer for Registration and Legal for six years.  

She is currently employed as the Manager of Operations and Responses of The Cause Collective New Zealand, a Pacific social change agency based in Auckland.  

Mrs. Tualega –Voorwinden is the daughter of Mrs. Situli Tualega and the late Malaetele Ve’a Tualega.  

She is married to Mr. Barney Voorwinden; they have four children.  

The S.I.F.A. was established in 2005 as the Government's response to rapid changes in the global financial environment.

The Authority is mandated to provide up to supervise the conduct of international finance in Samoa and maintain the country’s international business reputation. 

The Authority is governed by a Board of Directors that includes the Attorney General, Governor of the Central Bank of Samoa, CEO of the Ministry of Finance and four private sector representatives.
