Man pleads guilty to brother's death

A Faleapuna man changed his not guilty plea on Monday for the death of his brother in June last year.

Salakai Molio'o, 32, vacated his not guilty plea to guilty for the manslaughter of his brother and being armed with a dangerous weapon. 

He was represented by lawyer, Maureen Tuimaleali’ifano, who acted on behalf of Lefau Harry Schuster in the Supreme Court mention. 

Molio'o allegedly hit his brother’s head with a timber after the two men got into a dispute during a drink up on 7 June 2019.

Prosecutor and Assistant Attorney General, Magele Leone Su’a, withdrew the murder charge and proceeded with manslaughter charge against the accused. 

Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke granted the application and adjourned the matter for pre-sentence report, victim’s impact report and probationary report on 24 February 2020. 

Molio’o is remanded on bail until his Court appearance.
