Is Government action on coronavirus threat enough?

The Government is doing a good job by denying those travellers from entering our country. I don’t think Samoa is ready for another epidemic, especially after recovering from the measles epidemic.

Liva Andrews, 25, Lotofaga Safata.

It is for the best that we stop those travelling from countries that are currently affected by the coronavirus since there is no possible cure yet. Samoa cannot go through another epidemic like this, especially after the measles epidemic.

Vaa Brown, 50, Toamua.

We should ban Chinese from travelling to Samoa. The Samoan students who are in China should just stay there to prevent the disease from entering Samoa. From a spiritual view, the end is near. We have seen signs of war, deadly diseases and other things. Jesus is coming soon.

Moe Lei Sam, 68, Apaula Heights.

All the flights from those countries that are affected by the coronavirus should cease, and our students who are currently in China should be sent home as soon as possible. The Prime Minister and the Government should make that call.

Aukusitino Falaniko, 57, Falefa.

As citizens of Samoa, we must stand together to protect our small country from those disease. Like the saying goes “prevention is better than cure”. We must cease all flights from the affected countries, it’s not like we’re going to ban them forever, we can open our doors to those travellers once we know it’s safe and the coronavirus has a cure.
