The Ministry of Public Enterprises (M.P.E.) is on the move.

From their current headquarters at the Central Bank of Samoa Building, the management and staff will soon have a new work space at the Samoa National Provident Fund Plaza.

The relocation will cost $38,696, an expenditure approved in the supplementary budget for 2019/2020, passed in Parliament last week.

In the Finance and Expenditure Committee report in the supplementary, M.P.E. said the relocation is due to the shortage of working space for the staff.

The Ministry also noted the need to accommodate the members of the public attending to the office for their services.

The relocation becomes effective next week.

According to the report the office also explained negotiations regarding the lease has not been fianlised with the National Provident Fund which is expected to be increased from current lease paid to Central Bank.

It did not say how much the increase will be.

Furthermore, M.P.E. also reported a $3,801,186 revenue estimated to conclude the joint venture between the Samoa and the Virgin Australia Airline company.
