Former Chanel College students step up
The Chanel College Old Pupils Association has vowed to step up and assist with the needs of the educational institution this year.
A member of the Association and the college’s 2016 head boy, John Paul Tagaloa, said it was good to see former students getting involved to assist their former school.
"This is a great opportunity for the current students of Chanel College to see that the old pupils are still looking after them and still care for them," he said. "Thanks to the USO Trust for the wonderful work they have done in renovating the buildings and also the classrooms as well.”
The college’s current students are the future of Samoa, added Mr Tagaloa and it makes sense that the school environment should be perfect and conducive for learning.
"We the old pupils are working together with the current management to make sure the school will rise and not fall down," he added.
The former head boy said he believes that faith is holding the school together and they should keep their heads high.
"Our school motto is ‘hold onto your faith’ and with that we will keep our faith and believe that we can achieve anything," he added. “With the renovation of the school, it is creating a better place for these students to learn and to have an interest to study hard, because I can recall our time that our school building was not in a good state for learning.”
It is the hope of the Association’s members, according to Mr Tagaloa, that the students make use of the renovated classroom to study and for the students to do well in their chosen fields of study.
"We want them to end well and be successful because their parents are paying their school fees and they should make them proud," he added.
