The driver of a truck involved in a crash at Leulumoega, where the front part of the vehicle was completely crushed, survived but sustained serious injuries.

Acting Police Commissioner, Papali’i Monalisa Keti, confirmed that the truck driver was admitted at the national hospital, Moto’otua for treatment.

She said the driver is lucky to have survived.

From reports she received, Papali’i said the driver claimed the incident was caused by faulty brakes on the truck.

Police are continuing the investigation, she added.

The truck allegedly ran into several trees in Leulumoega crushing the front part of the vehicle.

It could not be confirmed by press time if the driver has been discharged from hospital.
