Loau is Samoa's newest District Court Judge
The Judicial Services Commission has appointed, Loau Donald Kerslake, as Samoa's newest District Court Judge.
The appointment was confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration, Moliei Simi Vaai, who is also the Secretary to the Judicial Services Commission (J.S.C.).
“Loau Donald Aukusitino Kerslake is appointed to the bench as a Judge of the District Court of Samoa," Ms. Vaai said.
According to the statement, the appointment was made by the J.S.C. at its meeting of 15th November 2019.
It was endorsed by Cabinet on 18th December 2019:
“The swearing-in ceremony for Mr. Kerslake will be held on Friday, 10th January 2020 at the Court House Mulinu'u.”
The statement noted the official ceremony to open the Courts for the year 2020 will be held on Tuesday 7th January at 9am at the Mulinuu Court House.
“The service will be led by the Archbishop of Samoa; The Most Reverend Alapati Lui Mataeliga with the keynote address to be delivered by the Acting Chief Justice, Justice Vui Clarence Nelson."
Loau, a former Manu Samoa prop, is the son of the former President of the Land and Titles Court, Tuala Sale Tagaloa and Dr. Maria Kerselake.
