The Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a fa’afafine found dead at a church hall two weeks ago.

Known as Jeanine Tuivaiki, Police Spokesperson, Maotaoali’i Kaioneta Kitiona, said the fa’afafine’s body is still the subject of a Police investigation.

“We are awaiting a report from the Coroner to confirm the cause of death,” said Maota.

“As I said before, there were bruises on the deceased man’s body which has led us to believe that he might not have necessarily died from suicide.”

Maota said only a post mortem could confirm their suspicions.

Asked how long the investigation is likely to take, Maotaoalii said it all depends on the arrival of a Pathologist.

“We don’t know at this stage,” he said.

“We are hoping to have it completed as soon as possible.”

In the meantime, Maota confirmed that they are also investigating two other cases of alleged suicide reported to them last week.

The first alleged suicide was reported to them from the National Health Services at Moto’otua last Wednesday.

The victim is a 36-year-old male. Another alleged suicide involves a 46-year-old female.
