Leulumoega crash claims one life

A crash involving two vehicles at Leulumoega during the weekend has claimed another life.

Police Commissioner, Fuiavaili'ili Egon Keil, confirmed one fatality as a result of the Saturday afternoon crash.

A response unit from the Fire and Emergency Service Authority (F.E.S.A.) was dispatched to the scene of the crash, according to the Authority’s Assistant Commissioner, Tanuvasa Petone Mauga.

He said when they got to the scene, they had to get the victims out of the two vehicles and into two ambulances where they were taken to the hospital.

“Two ambulances that we used when we went to the car crash scene," he said.

"There was more than one person involved in the accident."

Tanuvasa said both vehicles were badly damaged from the impact of the crash and could be written off.

“The two vehicles were damaged beyond repair and are write-offs,” he said, adding that the victims cannot be identified.

The deadly two vehicle crash at Leulumoega on Saturday afternoon comes 24 hours after a man was also killed when he drove his car into a cement traffic block at Vailoa in the early hours of last Friday.
