The Manusina 7s can still make the Olympics after defeating the Solomon Islands 45-0 to finish third in the Oceania Sevens Olympic qualifying tournament.

They will contest a repechage tournament in June with 11 other teams as one of two representatives from Oceania along with Papua New Guinea.

Samoa began the scoring against the Solomon Islands with a nice counter attack, as Elisapeta Leti made it 7-0 inside two minutes.

Their defence was solid throughout, and Saelua Seleti double the lead after a knock-on was forced in Solomon Islands territory.

Apaau Mailau then got her seventh try of the tournament just before halftime to make it 19-0.

She had her eighth not long after the break, cruising in to score after a poor clearing kick from the Solomon Islands.

Then Seleti got her brace with a great individual try, showing a good step and dummy to make it 33-0 with three minutes remaining.

That was time enough to two more tries to Vaimalo Manuo and Alafou Fatu, completing a dominant performance which placed Samoa fifth overall at the Oceania Sevens, making sure they don't return home empty-handed.
