The McWilliams children did not really plan to visit Samoa.

This was until their mother flew to Apia for work and they decided to join her.

The Sydney residents arrived in Samoa last Friday and have been enjoying the hospitality at the beautiful Taumeasina Island Resort, while Mrs. McWilliams attended a week-long conference being held in Apia.

Darren McWilliams, 43, said he and his two daughters, Livia and Alexa, are having a great time while his wife is officially on duty travel.

“So my wife is here for work and we just come along with her and now we are on a holiday,” he said.

Mr. McWilliams said their time at the resort has been great as customer service is top notch with employees taking care of their children's needs and being very helpful.

“It's just so relaxing and we have experienced a different culture and also getting away from work,” he said. “We have been into town but just for a little while, but mostly we have been here at the resort.”

For Livia, who is 12 years of age, this is her first visit to the country and she said she is having a good time relaxing. A tour is being planned for the other side of Upolu, and she said she is looking forward to visiting the rainforest, though the menu at the resort continues to be an amazing experience. 

Mr McWilliams, who works as a physical education high school teacher in Sydney, said they have been to Fiji before but their Samoan experience is great – especially for them as first time visitors.
