Toa Samoa named for Fiji test
Toa Samoa has made two changes to their lineup ahead of the crucial Oceania Cup test against Fiji Bati on Saturday afternoon.
Much of the team that defeated Canterbury Bulls 56-10 in a warmup game last Friday night is retained, but coach Matt Parish has brought two new players into his starting XIII.
19-year-old Ronaldo Mulitalo gets the nod at fullback in place of Lalatoa Mata’afa for what will be his test debut for Toa Samoa.
The Cronulla Sharks man recently represented the United States at the World Cup 9s.
Tino Fa’asuamaleaui represented Samoa at the 9s, but missed last week’s warmup while on Junior Kangaroos duty.
He comes into the second row in place of Luciano Leilua, who drops to the bench.
A win for the Toa would see them take out the Oceania Shield, and book a spot in the top-tier Oceania Cup competition with Australia, New Zealand and Mate Ma’a Tonga for next year.
