A couple from Australia is finally enjoying their dream visit to Samoa after trying twice unsuccessfully.

The Fryers from south Australia are loving the relaxing atmosphere of Taumeasina Island Resort and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, Sylvia Fryer, they are delighted to finally come to Samoa.

Ten years ago, she said they first booked a trip to Samoa where they were going to stay at Aggie Grey’s Hotel when Samoa was hit by the tsunami.

When that fell through, they tried again but this time they could not come because she was hospitalised.”

“Now this is our third time in booking our trip, and now finally we’ve made it,” she said.

“We have been enjoying our time here.”

Sylvia said in the time it has taken them to get to Samoa, she has learnt a lot from reading Lonely Planet which said a lot of nice things about Samoa.

She also saw an ad about ‘Beautiful Samoa’  in Australia, which made them even more interested to come.

Mr. and Mrs. Fryer said one of the best things they have done is taking a car and driving around Upolu.

“We rented a car to drive around the island and our tour guide cracked a coconut into two and told us a story about the coconut,” said.

“Here is not too commercialised like other countries like Hawaii and other countries we’ve been to.”

Nathan Fryer said his favourite part of the trip has been seeing the culture.

And if possible, they would like to return.

“This is a perfect place for my family to come,” said Sylvia. “This will be a perfect place for our daughter and her kids to come because this is the best for both adults and kids.”

The Fryers are returning home today.
