Samoa Airways' Marketing Manager resigns
Samoa Airways Marketing Manager and Communications Specialist, Dwayne Bentley, has resigned.
Robert Rounds, General Manager Commercial of the national airline, confirmed Mr. Bentley's resignation.
He said after taking leave, Mr. Bentley finished up last month, after more than two years on the job.
“He had his own personal reasons and he has left to move on to bigger and better things,” Mr. Rounds said.
“He has left us with a vacancy in terms of marketing, and there is a need to get someone in for marketing which we are in the process of doing.”
Mr. Bentley ended his team two weeks ago.
“He had other plans he wanted to do and all the best to him,” Mr. Rounds said.
His responsibilities have been taken on by other members in the Samoa Airways team as well as Mr. Rounds.
Mr. Bentley first joined the airline world in 2001 as the Marketing Officer for Polynesian Airlines, which he did for a year before joining the Central Bank as an Economist.
But he returned again for another two years in 2004.
He also spent nine years as Global Sales and Marketing Manager at the Samoa Tourism Authority.
The Samoa Observer has approached Mr. Bentley for comment. He is travelling with the Samoa Bodybuilding team which took part in an international competition in Tahiti last week. They are competing in New Zealand this weekend.
