Sydney-based couple, Dave Power and Anne O. Donneu, did not know much about Samoa – until their son and girlfriend flew over to the island for a holiday.

Ms. O Donneu, who told the Samoa Observer that she is a company director in Australia and is involved with various companies, said they are happy to be to be in Samoa and want to learn more about the country before they leave.

“The people here are so friendly, and the environment is so beautiful and very green,” she said.

They said they would like to stay longer on the island but cannot due to the non-availability of hotel rooms to book for the extra days.

“We would like to stay longer but there would not availability accommodation for us,” she said.

Mr. Power and Ms. Ms. O Donneu together with their son Tim and his girlfriend Anna are staying at the Saletoga Sands Resort at Matatufu, and they are enjoying their holidays.

“We were at the Cook Islands then we heard that Tim and Anna are coming to Samoa, than we thought to come along and check out Samoa,” she added.

With the few days left of their family holidays, they are looking forward to check out some of Samoa tourist areas like the giant clams and other places.

“We might look at the Tosua Trench and have a swim there also looking at some waterfalls as well,” she added.

Ms. O Donneu said their first day has been wonderful and walking around and seeing Apia was a great firsthand experience for them.
