The Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly stabbed a woman in the face resulting in serious injury.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Wednesday evening and was posted on social media.  

The woman from Satuimalufilufi, is receiving treatment at the Leulumoega hospital, according to the Police Deputy Commissioner Papali’i Monalisa Keti.

“Our Faleolo Outpost is handling this matter. This was brought to our attention and the Criminal Investigation Division and General Policing launched their investigation this morning.”

Papali’i also took the opportunity to appeal to members of the public that assault is illegal and such issues must be reported to the nearest Police post.

“Whenever there is an incident, the police must be contacted to enable us to provide the support and assistance required.”  

In the meantime, the graphic photos of the woman with a sharp wooden object pierced through her face have gone viral online.
