Judicial committee reserves judgement on Matu'u
Samoa hooker Motu Matu’u has appeared before an independent judicial committee after being cited for foul play following an alleged dangerous high tackle in the Manu Samoa's World Cup opener against Russia on Tuesday.
But the committee has reserved its judgement on the matter for a period not exceeding 24 hours, according to a statement released on Friday local time.
The judicial panel has directed involved parties to refrain from commenting until its decision is published.
The committee is chaired by Wang Shao Ing (a Singaporean lawyer and former international) and former Australian and Welsh representatives John Langford and Olly Kohn. The hearing considered available evidence including multiple broadcast angles and submissions from Matu’u and a team representative.
