Among 10 of the best seed-stage startups businesses who participated in day 1 of a two-day boot camp training for the Seedstars team, was the locally famous Events and Marketing Distribution (EMD) of Samoa.

Present at this event was Marketing and Events Executive Faumuinᾱ Ivan Afamasaga, along with two other staff members among the rest of the 9 remaining other businesses that attended.

“I learned of Seedstars from online and since we (EMD) are a small business, I was very much interested into participating in this Seedstars competition,” says Faumuinᾱ.

On the first day of session and presentation, Faumuinᾱ shares his enthusiastic thrive towards this event saying, “The most important thing that I’ve learnt today was actually achieving the product market feet, which is one of the most important goals for a start-up business here.”

Faumuinᾱ states that this is also one of the least understood concepts for a lot of businesses around.

He tells Samoa Observer of how product market is basically about knowing what your customers want. And if they somehow keep coming to your business, it’s obviously a sign that your business have completely understood or met the need of what they want.

This would also cause the business person to want to offer more to their customers in sense of building a product that they would want.

On top of that, it is to also develop a clear competitive edge for the market themselves as well as to offer solutions where possible for their customers.

By the end of the two-day boot camp training sessions, Faumuinᾱ’s goal is to be able to grasp everything that he could possibly hold his mind into before the public pitching event takes off tomorrow, the 26th of September.

He is even strongly determined that through his role as a Marketing and Events Executive, he aims to make use of that in terms of eventually taking EMD to a whole new level of prosperity.

His passion is to view the EMD business from a different perspective, which is he looks forward to taking the business to another level higher than that of where EMD is currently stationed in at the moment.
