Church prepares for first international conference

A local church is preparing to play host to its first ever international conference in Samoa.

The Taulogologo (Faith by Hearing) Christian Church will host their first four-day conference next week, which will attract participants from Australia and New Zealand.

Preparations have begun for the church with Apostle Suisamoa Mataafa telling the Samoa Observer in an interview that the members of the church in their other international congregations are travelling to Samoa for the summit.

“Now the members of the church are coming to Samoa to see where it all started, and I got a request from them that we should have a conference here in Samoa,” he said.

The church was established in 2001 in Samatau village with a branch getting established in Faleasiu village in 2003. They now have branches in Melbourne, Australia and the New Zealand city of Auckland.

Apostle Suisamoa said the conference is a good opportunity for their congregation members to unite and be encouraged to do more of God's work within and outside Samoa.

“Faith comes by hearing and by speaking the word of God to the people and teach the word of God to others, which are the main points,” he added.

As part of the church's preparations, congregation members and youths have begun cleaning the church premises as well as repaint the buildings before their visitors' arrive next week.

The conference in Samoa will start next Thursday, September 26 and end Sunday, September 29.

According to the church's website, they have sister churches in Faleasiu, Piu Falealili and Fasito'otai in Samoa.

Together with their presence in Auckland and Melbourne, they have also sent young missionaries to serve in Montana, U.S. The church leadership is headed by an apostle, prophets, teachers, pastors, assistant pastors and deacons.
