Resident fed up with rubbish antics
Peni Chan Sau of Falelauniu will not give up.
And if people are tired of seeing his photo on the Samoa Observer in relation to the issue of rubbish being dumped on his land, he said he has no choice because he doesn’t know where else to go.
Yesterday, Mr. Chan Sau visited to voice his frustration against certain members of the public who think his land is a rubbish dump.
“I don’t know what these people are thinking and I’m getting really tired of this,” he said.
“I was on my way home last night and I saw rubbish all over a piece of land near my house and I was frustrated because whoever is doing this thinks it’s funny.”
“This morning I came with three rubbish bags. One of the couples who live nearby we came and picked up all the rubbish that was all over the place and I have been to all the churches nearby to ask of the name of the person who is on one of the paper found in the rubbish.”
“This time I know it’s a church but I just can’t prove which denomination it is because one of the pieces of papers shows minutes of a conference that was held and the only name on this paper is “Tuuu”.”
“Now, all the churches nearby have no idea.”
“It’s sad because most of us who live in that area we always keep the area clean and yet some people think it’s a rubbish dump.”
“I only have one thing to say to whoever is doing this is that.”
“E le o se saiga mai fafo le saiga lea” (This is not a Chinese from China.) “O le saiga ua leva oga ola iigei.” (This Chinese has been living here all his life)
Mr. Chan Sau went on to say he has already been to the Police station.
“I reported to the police and I have left a copy of the same piece of paper to them and so they will look into this,” he said.
“The other copy I brought it here because I want to find out who is doing this unkind act. I just want to say one more thing please we are not your servants, if you don’t know where to put the rubbish then take it home with you, but don’t throw it at our lands.”
“The Bible say’s “do unto others as you want them to do unto you.”
