Samoa Observer Sports Reporter, Thomas Airey, is about to begin one of the most exciting assignments in his life as a sports journalist.

He will follow and report from inside the Manu Samoa camp starting on Thursday when he joins the team in Australia for their test match against the Wallabies on Saturday.

Mr. Airey is among a group of Samoan journalists that are being supported by the Australian High Commission, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Rugby Australia to travel to Sydney to cover the test match.

But the Samoa Observer will then fly Mr. Airey to Japan with the Manu Samoa, where he will provide exclusive coverage of their World Cup journey from within the team camp throughout the tournament.

Mr. Airey will be sending stories, photos and videos back so Samoa Observer’s audience can keep up with the latest news on the people’s team.

He and the Manu will fly to Tokyo out of Auckland on September 10th, with the team setting cup camp in Iwaki, Fukushima ahead of their opening game on the 24th against Russia at Kumagaya Athletic Stadium, Kumagaya (11:15 pm kickoff Samoan time).

Manu’s next game is against Scotland on the 1st of October at 12:15 am Samoan time, to be played at NOEVIR Stadium in Kobe.

They will then head to Toyota Stadium in Toyota, for a match against host nation Japan at 12:30 am Samoan time on the 6th of October.

Manu Samoa’s final pool game is against Ireland at Level5 Stadium in Fukuoka, with kickoff set for 12:45 am Samoan time on the 13th of October.
