Samoa Golf Incorporated (S.G.I.) hosted a breakfast on Thursday morning to extend its appreciation to all who were involved in preparing the sport for both the Invest Open and the 2019 Pacific Games.

S.G.I.'s President, Leiataua Isikuki Punivalu, expressed his thanks to everyone who was involved, both from within the committee and those outside, in preparations that helped bring the competitions into life.

That includes the Fagalii Congregational Christian Church of Samoa whose duties included maintaining the course's playing surface. 

"Money cannot do everything, but it is the good spirits and help lent that made it possible," he said.

He also thanked the athletes who participated in the Pacific Games, saying although expectations were high due to playing on home soil, the two bronze medals and a silver collected from the team were greatly appreciated. 

"We thank you for your efforts and hopefully the determination remains for the ongoing of the sport and may God help you all with your aspirations in the sport of golf," said Leiataua.
