The experience has been wonderful, says Guam official
An official of Team Guam, Frankie Cruz, is loving Samoa.
A first time visitor, he told the Samoa Observer he is loving the country in many ways, particularly the cultural part.
“The Samoan culture has been great and the experience has been wonderful,” he said.
He has been taken by the Samoan experience he wants to bring his family back for a longer visit.
“Personally, I'd love to come back and bring my family," he said. "I will love to check out more of Samoa and see it all."
Mr. Cruz said he is thankful to Samoa for hosting the Pacific Games given the limited time frame it has had to prepare.
“Samoa has been a great host given a such short time,” he added.
As for Team Guam, the Manager said their athletes and officials have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“In general, both men and women teams are very happy to be in the Pacific Games, they are in good spirits,” he said.
While the athletes have not seen much of the island, the treatment they have received in Apia and the welcome they have been accorded during their time in Samoa will not be easily forgotten.
“We are grateful for the hospitality that Samoa has put out," he said. "The experience has been wonderful."
