A conference designed to assist fathers to identify their responsibilities and grow their relationship with God, families, villages and churches is underway in Samoa.

Convened at the Peace Chapel Christian Fellowship in Vaimoso, Pastor Samoa Unoi said the Sons of the King conference discussions will revolve around the theme “thy kingdom come.”

This is the fifth Sons of the King conference to have been held.

"The main reason of the conference is to teach the fathers with the word of god,” he told the Samoa Observer in an interview.

Pastor Unoi said the theme for this year comes from the Lord’s prayer and he believes those who live without God are not blessed in life in whatever they do.

“We believe that people who live without God in his life, there is no blessing of God in his family, business and other things and we believe that everything is blessed due to  God who created it,  even the person,” he said.

The objective of the conference is to help the fathers’ understand and appreciate their duties in their families and develop their relationship with their families, villages and other responsibilities.

Pastor Samoa said getting fathers to fully understand their duty call by God will help them to develop their relationship with their families, village, workplace, business, church and the Government.

“Its open to any one who are in any church because we believe that the word of god is for everyone, and god for all the people. God's plan is on the person itself.”

Two conference participants told this newspaper that the meeting had an impact on them and their outlook on life.

George Key, 25, said the conference gave him insights on how he can learn from the Bible on everyday life and having moral values.

“This conference really have an impact on me, I learn of things that help me with my everyday life also helps me with my moral values,” he said.
