The Police are investigating the death of pilot who works for one of the airlines flying between Samoa and American Samoa.

This was confirmed by the Police Commissioner, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil, who said the pilot died at his residence last week.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, he said the pilot was working for a local airline and the Police are investigating the cause of death.

“We are still investigating the case at this stage,” he said. 

“For that reason I am unable to give any further details as to the cause of death.” 

The Commissioner also declined to confirm the deceased pilot's village, or any other details that could lead to his identification.
