Investigation into Justice A.C.E.O. ongoing
The investigation into the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (M.J.C.A.) Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Ve’atauia Fa’atasi Puleiata, is ongoing.
Ve’atauia has been suspended since 18th March 2019, pending an investigation into Public Service Commission charges in relation to the alleged abuse of a government vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.
Asked for an update, P.S.C. Commissioner, Lauano Vaosa Epa, said: “The matter relating to Ve’atauia Fa’atasi Puleiata is ongoing”.
She did not elaborate on the matter.
Ve’atauia was called back into Court to translate the hearing for prominent farmer Peter Tulaga in May whilst being under suspension.
Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala–Warren made the order following an application from prosecution and defense lawyer to have Ve’atauia for his experience in translating Court matters.
Contacted for a comment, Veatauia said: "I’m still waiting for a decision from P.S.C.I was told at the time of my suspension that the investigation is for a month but its longer than that now."
