A memorable day at St Mary’s Primary School

The torch came from Leulumoeaga to Vaimoso reach its end to St Mary’s primary school at Savalalo yesterday afternoon, and the australia team join the students in the torch relay. 

Samoa Observer caught up with some of the parents at St Mary’s primary school to get their views about the torch relay event, Silia Uluiga said the torch relay is a great event for the parents to see their children involved in the event, “for me its was a great event torch relay for us parents to see our children taking parts, and this is a first never event in their life they have seeing a torch relay event here in Samoa,” she said. 

Miss Uluiga said she is proud and happy the torch relay end at St Mary’s primary school, while the adopted country Australia was their with the school, “above all, I am so proud and happy that the torch relay end here St mary’s primary school together with the Australia team  which the kids are supporting,” she added.  

Filiga Ulberg 77 years old said she come to support her granddaughter who is involved is the torch relay, and she describes the  students were proud and happy and she is happy about the decoration and preparation done by the students, “for me I am so proud and happy how their preparation,” she said. 


St  Mary’s Primary school runner Sayonara Ala’ala’atoa said her experience in carrying the torch during the relay was not what she thinks, but she really likes, and it was a good experience for her, “ It did not go as much as I expected but it was really nice, and its was a good experience for me,” she said. 


“ I had my support with while I was running, its was the happiness moment of my life is this day,” Sayonara Ala’alatoa  told the Samoa Observer.
