Two New Zealand Police Officers are in the country to conduct an organisational structure review for the Samoa Police Service (S.P.S.)

Police Commissioner Fuiavailiili Egon Keil, and Deputy Commissioner, Papali'i Monalisa Keti, were among the members of the S.P.S. who welcomed the officers earlier this week at their headquarters in Apia.

The review will assist in recommending an organisation structure that ensures efficient and effective service delivery of S.P.S.

It is anticipated that by August, a review report will be submitted to the Minister of Police for his endorsement.

The review team, throughout this week, will meet relevant stakeholder partners of the S.P.S.

The Police acknowledged the support of the New Zealand Police and New Zealand Government.

Also this week, 30 local police officers are undergoing close personal protection training (C.P.P.), spearheaded by instructors from the Australian Federal Police (A.F.P.) and Royal Solomon Island Police Force (R.S.I.P.F.). 

This week concludes the three-week training where seven women and 23 men will be able to deliver C.P.P. at international level standards. 

The training is also essential for Samoa in the upcoming Pacific Games said a statement by the Police on their Facebook page.

S.P.S. also expressed their gratitude towards assistance by A.F.P. and R.S.I.P.F. for its ongoing support.
