Kolani Junior Lam, the husband accused of murdering his  wife and the Unit Trust of Samoa (U.T.O.S.) Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.), Sa’u Justina Sa’u, has been denied bail for the second time. 

The decision was delivered by Acting Chief Justice, His Honour Justice Vui Clarence Nelson, Thursday evening.

Lam was represented by lawyer, Lei'ataualesa Komisi Koria, while Assistant Attorney General, Magele Leone Su'a, was the prosecutor. 

Lam faces a murder charge, alternative charges of manslaughter, common assault in respect of his step daughter, possession of narcotics and conspiracy to defeat the cause of justice.

His request for bail follows his application to appeal a decision from the Supreme Court that denied him a Judge alone trial. 

He is also appealing prosecution evidence being admitted on the basis of propensity. 

The Court of Appeal next sitting is in October.  

In December last year, he was denied bail by the Supreme Court saying that there is a significant risk should Lam be granted bail. 

Lam remains in custody.
