Czech Republic nationals, Dagmar Louvarova, and Tomas Dvoracek, are first time visitors to Samoa.

They had planned to stay in Samoa for 18 days, and having already clocked a week in this island paradise, they've only realised that the country will soon host the Pacific Games and they will miss it.

The couple had never heard of the Pacific Games before until they arrived in Samoa over a week ago.

"We just wished we could postpone our stay a little bit longer but it's too late I guess, but we wish we could stay a little bit longer," Mr. Dvoracek said.

Samoa was on the couple's bucket list and they vowed to fly over to the island, after getting to New Zealand as they heard about the island from friends.

Tasting traditional Samoan cooking was an experience not to be missed, and they have picked umu and palusami as their favourite local Samoan dishes.

They also used the opportunity to learn more about Samoan culture, which is knowledge that they will take back with them to Europe.

"One important thing we learned here is the hospitality of the people. We're just so amused with the friendly people and the culture and everything about Samoa.

"Another thing we will surely remember Samoa of is to always be chill. Here in Samoa is so relaxing and not much commanding going on around and we loved and blessed to be here," Mr. Dvorcek added.

The couple are currently staying at the Taumeasina Island Resort and they are loving the hospitality.

"We love Samoa and thank you for having us," they said.
