Danielle Asolelei from Lotofaga, Aleipata is the 2018 Year 8 Dux of Ah Mu Academy School.

She was delighted she topped her class and was amazed that it was the end of another academic year.

“It’s very exciting to be the dux of my school. I’m so proud of myself that I have achieve such high level.

I actually doubted myself at first, but I’m really proud of myself that I made it this far,” she told Samoa Observer in an interview.

Danielle excelled in social studies, English, health and physical education and science.

She dedicated her achievements to her parents, Sarah Lusele and Asolelei Lusele, for their love and support throughout the years and acknowledged their encouragement and financial support this year.

The assistance of her primary school teachers—who helped her get through the difficult times—was also acknowledged. Not forgetting extended families in Samoa and abroad.

“I wouldn’t have made it this far without the generous support from my families, friends and my teachers also,” she added.

The competition among her peers to be the top student was intense, Danielle added, and she was happy that finally her parents and family can be proud of her achievements.

Mr. Lusele did not have much to say, except to give thanks and praise God for his daughter’s achievements.

“I just want to praise God for the many blessing He has blessed my family with. Thank Him for leading us to this very special moments of life. I’m proud that my daughter has made it through hardship with God’s help and with that I’m so grateful for everything that the Lord has planned for us today,” he said.

Danielle aspires to become a successful business woman and believes that with God’s help it is achievable.
