Youth from the Zions City Christian Ministry put on a dance performance for elders at Mapuifagalele and donated $500 tala.

Church president Pastor Matofai Mareko said the youth's visit to the home of the elderly is them putting into action God's message.

“It’s all about putting the message of God into actions and delivering it to the people that needs it like the dear elders of Mapuifagalele. We are very pleased to have done something for them,” he said.

Their dance performance got the Mapuifagalele residents excited, with some raising their hands and following the dance movements.

Pastor Mareko said the $500 donation was a gesture from the youth to put something on the table for the elders.

The visit and performance by the Zions City Christian Ministry youth is their second to the facility at Mapuifagalele with Pastor Mareko said it’s always a huge blessing to do so.

The Zions Christian Church if based at Vaitele-Uta, west of Apia.

A church youth member, Natasha Banse, said it is her first visit to the facility and it is a blessing and encouragement for her and her peers.

“Today has taught me a good lesson and encouraged me to strive for the best in the future and be obedient to my parents, especially my grandmother at home.”

“My grandmother is not that old but after today and seeing all these elders put me into tears and has pushed me to be a good child to my grandmother,” she said.

The Mapuifagalele elders blessed the youths for their performance and donation.

One of the elders, Faapapalagi said it’s always a blessing and exciting to see children visiting them.

“We see them as if they’re our own children performing on.”
