Unit Trust joins forces with Samoa Airways to give back

The Unit Trust of Samoa (U.T.O.S.) and Samoa Airways have launched the "U.T.O.S.-Samoa Airways Independence draw" promotion with the intention of giving back to its unit holders.

The announcement was made by the Customer Relations Manager of U.T.O.S., Clayton Simamao, during a press conference at their Board room on Tuesday.

Mr. Simamao said the idea of such promotion was born out of their willingness to give back to their unit-holders.

"This was a question put forth during our annual general meeting last year; the question of how we can give back to our unit holders," said Mr. Simamao.

"We had another promotion in the beginning of the year and are happy to announce this new promotion in partnership with our Samoa Airways brothers and sisters.

"We are looking at having at least two promotions at selected time periods so we can give back to people who have opened accounts with us."

The promotion will be held on 7 June, just in time for the Independence Day celebration.

Mr. Simamao said the promotion offers four return tickets to Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand for a unit-holder and a second person.

"Also, we will also choose a winner for a Samoa-Sydney return trip, again we will draw a unit-holder along with a partner. All in all, there will be four tickets to be drawn.

"We've decided that we will reward the first number of unit holders who joined U.T.O.S. So our first lot of unit holders who joined from September 2010 until June 2011.

"So whoever joined or opened account during this period, they will be the first group. There were only 200 accounts at the time and from that 200, we have looked at those who still have accounts with us, and as of now, we only have a 157 possible winners. Those will be the first lots to draw from."

Mr. Simamao said there will be other promotions in the future as U.T.O.S. looks at celebrating their 10th year anniversary next year.
