The Police has captured another man who was awaiting trial and broke out of Tafaigata Prison last Monday.

A statement issued by the Police said they captured 18-year-old Silao Faaleleiga of Nofoali'i, Sa'anapu and Salailua.

"The Samoa Police Service wishes to inform the public that one of the escaped custodies has been located and returned to the Tafaigata Prison's custody," said the statement.

The other prisoner who escaped last Monday morning was captured on the same day. He is Palemata Eteuati, 17, from Leauva’a and Manunu.

Last Monday morning, a Samoa Prison and Corrections Services (S.P.C.S.) officer sustained injuries when seven detainees attempted to break out of the Tafaigata Prison.

Prisons Deputy Commissioner Levaopolo Rosa Siaosi said there were 33 people being held in the detainees' cell that day and seven tried to make a getaway.

“Five were captured down the walkway while the other two managed to escape."
