An overseas matai sa’o (family paramount chief) has reacted angrily to a newly passed law prohibiting the future bestowal of the titles upon non-residents of Samoa.

The Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Dr. Sailele Malielegaoi has assured that limitation of paramount chiefs (matai sa’o) will not apply to those who already hold such a position, and announced he will not let the opposition mislead the nation without a fight.
