There has been no official announcement of China's President, Ji Xingping to visit Samoa.

This was confirmed by a Chinese Embassy official when sought comments on the embassy's preparations to welcome the Chinese President’s arrival.

"We have not been notified of any visit by our President because there has been no official announcement of his coming to Samoa and that is why we cannot comment on any preparations made for his arrival.

"But if there is any announcement made in the near future we will notify

But earlier this year during the farewell for the outgoing Ambassador of China to Samoa, Wang Xuefeng: Prime Minister Tuilaepa Dr. Sa’ilele Malielegaoi revealed that China’s President might visit Samoa.

“You have shared with me that China’s President may visit Samoa before the end of this year and I urge you to do all you can to ensure that the State Visit happens when you return to the mainland.

“If it does, I will personally convey our request for assistance to build our Vaiusu Bay which will solve our economic setbacks.
