Three months and counting. That's how long Samoa's most wanted criminal, Pati Chong-Nee, has been on the run, successfully evading all efforts by the Police and relevant authorities to catch him.

Chong Nee escaped  with another prisoner, Aniseko Vaelei, during a church service at the prison.

Vaelei has since been re-captured.

But not Chong Nee.

He  was last seen in February of this year through CCTV footage from a Moamoa shop which he and Vaelei broke into and robbed.

There has been no latest updates from Police on the progress of their search but have advised members of the public numerous time against harbouring the prison escapee.

Recently, the Police Commisioner, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil warned that “anyone found to be harbouring the escapee will be charged and dealt with by the law.”

“We urge members of the public to contact the Police if they have any information that could lead to the capture of Chong Nee,” he said.

The wanted criminal is a 25-year-old from the villages of Aleisa and Vaitele Fou and was serving time for theft, burglary and other crimes.

Attempts by the Samoa Observer to get comments from police and Samoa Prisons and Correctional Services were unsuccessful.
