The Government has advertised the chief executive officer positions for the Samoa Tourism Authority (S.T.A.) and the Samoa Land Corporation (S.L.C.).

Currently the incumbent position holders are Papali’i Sonya Hunter at the S.T.A. and Ulugia Petelo Kavesi at the S.L.C. The two top bureaucrats follow colleague To’oto’olea’ava Dr. Fanaafi Aiono-Le Tagaloa, whose C.E.O. position at the Samoa International Finance Authority (SIFA) was advertised last week.

Ulugia and To’oto’olea’ava are in their first terms as C.E.O. while Papali’i is in her second term as head of the country's tourism agency. Ulugia was previously manager at the Administration at the Accident and Compensation Corporation (A.C.C.) before he moved to the S.L.C. as the C.E.O.

The remuneration and benefits package – as per the vacancy advertisement in the newspaper – is in accordance with the existing chief executive officer salary levels that are paid by the Samoa Government. The deadline for applications fall on April 19 at 4:00 pm, close of business.

The successful applicant for the position of general manager with the S.L.C. will report to the corporation's board of directors and the contract will be for three years.

“The general manager is responsible to the minister and board of directors for the efficient control and effective management of the corporation.

“Applicants should have proven sound management skills and strong administrative experience at the senior management level. Sound knowledge and understanding of Samoa’s land tenure systems and real estate developments, as well as a tertiary qualification would be an advantage.

“Salary will be in accordance with existing salary package of heads of Government ministries and corporations.”
